Distribution System Prototype

Objective:

Redesign of Defective Merchandise Chute System for National Department Store’s Distribution Facility.

Background:

Proos was contracted by a worldwide logistics and material handling solutions company to create a prototype for a chute distribution system for a national department store’s facility. The prototype for the distribution system was built from drawings received by the logistics and material handling solutions company, however, when manufacturing was complete, the system was dysfunctional due to incorrect door sizing and misalignment of hole pattern. The distribution system as originally designed would not function.

Solution:

Engineers at Proos created a successful new prototype for the department store’s merchandise distribution system. The bi-level, 282 chute distribution system was designed, manufactured and installed by Proos. This was the first chute distribution system designed by Proos, and the first time we handled installation of product.

Result:

Proos solved significant design flaws that existed in the original drawings we received for the distribution system, and handled the entire project from creation to installation. Since completion of this project, contracts with the logistics and material handling solutions company have multiplied quickly and Proos has designed state of the art distribution systems for a multinational retail corporation and worldwide electronic commerce company based in the U.S.
